In Violent Media Is Good for Kids, Gerard Jones states,"children need violent entertainment in order to explore the inescapable feelings that they've been taught to deny and reintegrate those feelings into a more whole, more complex, more resilient self hood, which I can agree with. Gerard Jones also states, "I am going to argue that it's helped hundreds of people for everyone it's hurt  and that it can help far more if we learn to use it well." That is where I disagree. Jones is basically saying that for every hundred it helps, there will also be that one person that has to suffer. Examples of this would be the Columbine shooting and Virginia Tech shooting. During these shootings many people where injured and killed. Taking a chance to test if violent media will help a child or harm them is not worth it. No one should have to pay the price for the hundred that Gerard Jones claims it helps. I argue that violent media is not something that should be used as test for children to see how a child will respond. I believe that there are other methods that can be used for children to explore those inescapable feelings like karate.
